Throughout history, individuals and societies have grappled with the complexities of karma, seeking to understand its implications for personal and collective growth.
In today’s society, the true meaning and understanding of karma has often been lost. It now serves as a moral compass, guiding individuals towards virtuous conduct and accountability for their actions.
SO HOW DOES KARMA WORK?
How Karma Works
Karma is the main reason for the cycle of reincarnation, also known as samsara. According to this belief, every action, thought, reaction, and intention leaves an imprint on one's soul, influencing future incarnations and experiences. These actions can be either negative or positive, shaping your current incarnation.
Actions that hinder your evolution are self-inflicted and not necessarily what society deems as 'bad' or 'negative.' Conversely, actions that facilitate your evolution are self-serving but may not be what society deems as 'good' or 'positive.'
These past actions can either block or accelerate your spiritual and personal growth. Negative actions need more attention because they require healing. For example, if in a past life your actions were:
Self-suppressing
Self-sabotaging
Hurtful towards others
You will continue to reincarnate until you learn to put yourself first, stop self-sabotaging, or cease hurting others. Karma will impose lessons and experiences upon you to overcome these traits and clear your negative karma, allowing you to receive good karma.
This process can also happen in reverse. Receiving good karma first might lead you to act or react in ways that create bad karma, which you must then address and clear.
THERE ARE TWO MAIN TYPES OF KARMA
Karmic Debt: This refers to the accumulation of unresolved actions or obligations from past lives that affect our present circumstances. Clearing karmic debt involves acknowledging past mistakes, making amends, and embracing forgiveness and redemption.
Karmic Collection: This is the accumulation of resolved actions, obligations, and duties from past lives that enhance your present circumstances. This may manifest as success, good patterns, or a clear life path. Karmic collection involves acknowledging past life corrections, making connections, and understanding your self-worth and power.
Karmic debt or collection can be served under:
Fixed Karma: Fixed karma pertains to the predetermined aspects of our destiny that are beyond our control. This stems from positive and negative actions in our past lives. While we may not be able to change certain circumstances, we can choose how we respond to them, thereby influencing our karma.
Unfixed Karma: Unlike fixed karma, unfixed karma is malleable and subject to change based on our conscious choices and actions in this incarnation. By cultivating awareness and making positive changes in our behaviour, we can alter the course of our destiny.
Karmic Patterns: These are self-recurring themes or behaviours that manifest in our lives as a result of past actions or experiences. Identifying and understanding these patterns is essential for breaking free from negative cycles and transforming our lives.
Ancestral Karma: This refers to the karmic energy or memory, both positive and negative, inherited from our ancestors. The actions, intentions, and unresolved issues of previous generations can leave imprints in our cellular memory, influencing our life experiences and challenges.
